Missions & Outreach - Offerings

There are four major offerings each year promoted by ABC USA. They are:

America for Christ Offering (AFC)

America for Christ gifts support ministries that transform lives, churches and communities across the United States and Puerto Rico-bringing hope to children living in poverty and equipping leaders to share the Good News of Jesus through evangelism, discipleship, congregational transformation and prophetic justice.

One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (OGHS)

Through One Great Hour of Sharing, we care for God’s treasures. By sharing some of our earthly treasure - our money, our time, our energy - aid is sent when disaster strikes. Refugees receive help in the long term as they rebuild their lives. People receive education, health care, tools, seeds, and resources to improve their communities.

World Mission Offering (WMO)

Our congregation uses the World Mission Offering to support more than 2,500 short- and long-term missionaries annually, bringing U.S. and Puerto Rico churches together with partners in 76 countries in cutting-edge ministries that tell the good news of Jesus Christ while meeting human needs.

Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO)

Through this annual offering, American Baptist congregations say thank you in a tangible way to the denomination’s retired ministers and missionaries or their widowed spouses. The offering provides them with: Emergency and other financial assistance, based on financial need; and “Thank You” checks, based on 15 or more years of ABC service.
